Montaluce Mead Debuts
This past weekend I traveled to Savannah to attend the Georgia Organics Conference. This is THE event to attend each year for all those producing, promoting, or eating local food. I was there for several reasons but the biggest one was to debut the mead that I made up at Montaluce Winery in collaboration with their extremely talented winemaker Maria Peterson. Five cases were poured during the Expo event on Friday night. The reactions were even better than I had hoped for. Everyone would take a sip, their eyes open wide and ask me where they could buy it.
The mead is produced using local wildflower honey and well water. It is a sparkling, semi-sweet mead that just begs to be quaffed outside on a warm sunny day. It will be available for purchase soon at http://www.montaluce.com/, at the winery, and through Quality Wine & Spirits (distributor).
